Nobody ever knows why they were stood up for a first date. It can be the one of the hardest things to get over. Here are some general reasons people get stood up.
1. Didn’t like what he saw:
He could have very well walked into the meeting place and taken a look at you. if he was not interested in what he saw, he might have walked right out the door. If you would have worn a more low cut top or dress, he might have stayed to see the date through.
2. Went to the wrong location:
If you pick the location of the date, make sure it is easy to get to from all areas. If you need directions to get to the location, your date can get lost pretty easily. It would be a smart idea to pick a location you both know of.
3. Talked out of it:
If his friends didn’t want him going on this date in the first place, they very well could have talked him out of meeting you. Men have a weird connection with each other. A lot of them go by the saying “bro’s before hoe’s”. This means they will choose each other over any female.
4. Guilty conscience:
If a man has recently cheated or done something you would not approve of, he would feel too guilty to face you in person. Instead of meeting you for the date, he makes up an excuse so he doesn’t have to face you right away.
5. Already satisfied:
If the man has already gotten what he originally wanted, he won’t feel the need to take you out on dates. This is the worst way to get stood up but unfortunately it happens to some women.
6. Method of asking out:
If the woman was asked out on the date through a cheesy method, she might not want to follow through with the date. A text message or email will not make your date want to actually show up.
7. Being set up:
A lot of men will set up their single buddy to get him back on the dating scene. Unfortunately for you, if he doesn’t want to date yet, he might stand you up. You are the innocent bystander in this situation. You got stood merely because he wasn’t ready to start dating again.
8. Back with his ex:
A man can set up a first date to get his mind off of his ex girlfriend. Some men are whipped badly enough they will crawl back the second the ex talks to them again. If he set up a date and started talk to his ex girlfriend recently, he will most likely choose the girlfriend over the new date. It is very unfortunate but guys tend to think with the wrong head sometimes.
9. Drunken set up:
If the date was set up during a drunken night of fun, he probably didn’t remember making the plans at all. Once he gets a missed call the next day he will probably remember he had something to do that night.
10. Beer goggles:
If you make the plans with your date while you are heavily intoxicated, you might regret it the next morning. Beer goggles can make anyone look good. If you knew he was drunk when he asked you out, don’t hold him responsible for standing you up.
Almost everyone will be stood up at one point in their life. It is a horrible feeling but it is almost impossible to avoid.
